SBAA Memorial Scholarship Information
Marko Duric Memorial Scholarship:
The Marko Duric memorial Scholarship is presented each year by members of the Duric family in loving memory of their father, grandfather and great-grandfather a foremost supporter of the SBAA. Born in 1925 in Knin, Serbia Dalmatia, Marko emigrated to the United States in 1950 to escape the wrath of communism. Marko and his wife Joka were blessed with three children, Angie Lazich (Sam), Mary Meihofer (Kurt) and Nicholas (Milena). Like his children and grandchildren, Marko helped shape and implement SBAA's mission to provide financial and networking support to Serbian American law students. On behalf of the SBAA, he tirelessly solicited support from the broader Serbian American community. May his memory be eternal.
Jovan Mitrovic Memorial Scholarship
In 1997, Jovan Mitrovic's San Diego and Chicago based friend and colleagues established a memorial scholarship fund to assist law students of Serbian descent in the financing of their law school education. The scholarship is awarded to a student selected from applicants for the SBAA's annual awards. Jovan's friends and colleagues as that his memory be kept alive through donations to this scholarship fund.
